Location
Maxwell is a fantastic location between St. Lawrence Gap and Oistins Fish Market on the south coast of Barbados. A multitude of water sports (e.g., sailing, water skiing, windsurfing, scuba diving) is available at the many beautiful beaches within walking distance of the house.
The nearest bar/restaurant is a single block away from the villa. St. Lawrence Gap, with its many restaurants and vibrant nightlife, is just a five minute drive or 15 minute walk. Oistins, with its famous Friday Night Fish Fry, is a short 5 minute drive. Internet Cafes, Pharmacies, and medical facilities are also nearby.
Public transport is excellent: buses run every few minutes between Oistins and Bridgetown along the main Maxwell Road (only a minute’s walk from the house) and cost just $2 BBDs. A car is not necessary to enjoy this property, although to adventure further afield we would recommend renting a car for all or part of your vacation. The villa has private parking and external lighting.
Property
The house was newly constructed in 2006 with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. It is in a quiet residential area. Maxwell Beach is less than a five minute walk away; many other beaches are also close by. The property does not currently have a pool.
The villa contains four bedrooms: two with queen beds and two with a pair of single beds each. There is A/C in three of the bedrooms while the other has both overhead and freestanding fans. One of the bathrooms is a four piece en-suite; one is on the main landing upstairs; one is downstairs. Every bathroom has a shower.The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, microwave, fridge, freezer, washer, dryer, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, dishwasher, cutlery, crockery, glassware and cooking utensils. The dining room table can accommodate eight people.This property is strictly pet and smoke-free. It is unsuitable for wheelchairs, but convenient for persons with walking difficulties. Electronic safe, propane barbeque and mobile phone provided.
Renting
The current rental fees are $1100 to $1600 per week USD plus a $35 USD damage waiver (non-refundable). Optionally, a $500 USD security deposit to be refunded provided there is no damage to the house or excessive cleaning required after your stay. We require the names and ages of all tenants to finalize your booking. A 25 percent deposit is required within 5 days of booking and the balance is due five weeks prior to arrival.
